Women usually worry too much about their appearance. People do sometimes exaggerate, but a good look is not easily achieved. Conditions such as stretch marks, varicose veins and cellulite are mainly suffered by females and unfortunately are not easy to remove and treat, but we can assure that there are solutions to improve these conditions. Believe it or not, stretch marks are experienced by almost 90% of pregnant women, but pregnancy is not the sole cause, and some men also suffer from them too.
Stretch marks are the result of the rupture of fibers of the skin when the skin is stretched. At first they are a pinkish color, then they turn red, and finally, they become white. Stretch marks are basically a reflection of the separation of the skin. When our skin is stretched it does not hurt, but sometimes we feel a slight burning or throbbing instead. Stretch marks usually appear in the abdomen but also tend to be present in unwanted areas such as thighs, hips, breasts, buttocks and arms.
There are many causes for the emergence of stretch marks. The skin stretches for different reasons, usually because of increased body size, although our skin is very elastic and able to withstand the stretch. It does have a limit though, so when it reaches this, the skin becomes broken. These breaks may destroy the outer layers of the skin, and such ruptures are called stretch marks.
Other common causes of their appearance are the lack of collagen and elasticity, but sudden weight change accounts for 70% of the causes. If we gain weight rapidly, the skin is forced to accommodate, and thus causes the skin to break (as already mentioned). Hormonal changes often cause this condition, as common cases usually occur during puberty when the breasts begin to enlarge.
Many experts say that stretch marks can be inherited. Genetic disposition is essential for its appearance, but these are considered a problem which cannot simply be inherited, but which will probably be combined with other causes. The health of the skin also affects the generation of stretch marks: dry skin combined with a poor diet makes it more favorable to conditions such as these.
Finally, one of the factors that usually cause immediate stretch marks is rapid development of the muscles, the most obvious example is a bodybuilders body, as in these cases the skin is broken quite frequently.
