Stretch Marks Treatments

Stretch marks occur after the dermis is stretched or under the influence of estrogen or corticosteroids. Stretch marks can be observed after the sudden growth that occurs during puberty, pregnancy, or in cases of gaining weight quickly. Other causes may include the use systemic steroids for long periods of time, or after topical administration. There are different stretch mark treatments, ranging from microdermabrasion to the use of topical creams.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a new treatment for stretch marks. Basically, it removes the outer layers of cells in the skin, which in turn causes cell regeneration to take place more favorably by increasing the production of collagen (which makes the skin to become more resilient and flexible), which is essential in preventing stretch marks emerging or regenerating.

Microdermabrasion used aluminum oxide crystals, and the dead cells are sucked into a small vacuum which will ultimately determine the degree of exfoliation on the skin. The stronger the suction, the deeper the peel, and the results of this treatment for stretch marks typically leads to a much smoother skin.

Treatments for Stretch Marks Through Peeling and Laser

Peeling is a very old technique; this treatment is without a doubt a cure for stretch marks. What is done here is (as the name suggests) a peeling of the skin with a formula that combines seaweed, herbs, minerals, vitamins and enzymes. All of these ingredients penetrate the body through intense massage. This biological method to renew the skin is used throughout the world because of its effectiveness for removal of imperfections and impurities, and it can be applied in all areas where there are striae: thighs, abdomen, chest and arms.

Laser

Laser technology has revolutionized the stretch marks treatment industry, and this new technique can treat stretch marks in their initial phase (red) with vascular lasers, achieving surprisingly good results, whereas the treatment of white stripes uses a different technique, which includes the stimulation of collagen and the reconstitution of the dermis, thus achieving noticeable improvements in appearance.
